Inside Hushwell: designing for calm
Why we removed features, slowed down animations and chose a color palette inspired by fog.

When we started Hushwell, we wrote one rule on the wall: every pixel should lower your heart rate, not raise it.
Fewer things, done well
We removed more features than we shipped. No streaks, no badges, no red notification dots. If something asked for your attention, it had to earn it.
Motion that breathes
Our animations are slow on purpose. Elements arrive gently and settle without bouncing, so the interface feels like it is breathing with you rather than shouting at you.
Calm is a feature. It just does not fit on a comparison chart. The result is a tool people describe less like software and more like a good notebook, and that is the highest compliment we could hope for.
